About Energy Psychology (EFT)
“You can’t kill energy. You have to transform it” (Welcome Home book by Sandra Ingerman)
What is Energy Psychology?
Energy Psychology is a synthesis of practices designed to shift self-limiting patterns of emotion, thought, and/ or behaviour.
Energy Psychology practices are gentle and can effectively release traumatic imprints that are frozen in time in the mind-body-energy system. These traumatic imprints can filter how we see the world and relate to others.
One of the most practiced and well known energy psychology methods is EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques. EFT is also known as ‘tapping’, and sometimes is described as ‘emotional acupuncture’ or ‘acupuncture without needles’.
EFT involves tapping lightly or touching specific points on the body’s energy pathways (called meridians) while focusing on a particular emotion, physical sensation, event or thought. We tap as we focus to release negative emotions resulting from challenging events in the past.
An Energy Psychology session can help you to:
Reduce levels of stress and anxiety;
Alleviate emotional pain;
Transform destructive thoughts and limiting beliefs;
Change unwanted habits and behaviours;
Align conscious choices with subconscious patterns;
Resolve unfinished business and optimise performance.
“When our energy is flowing smoothly, we feel calm and peaceful. Conversely, when this energy is disrupted, we become out of balance and overly emotional. This disruption, or blockage, limits our ability to function at our best” (EFT Comprehensive Training Resource book by Ann Adams & Karin Davidson).
